Subsequently, the Consortium for Educational Communication (CEC) was established in 1993 under UGC Act 12 (CCC) as a national nodal agency to coordinate, guide & facilitate these Multimedia Centres in educational production and dissemination activities at the national level. Today, 20 Multimedia Centres are working towards achieving this goal under the umbrella of CEC.
